LITTLE EGGS: A FROZEN RESCUE (UK U/ROI G, 91 mins)
Released: March 29 (UK & Ireland, selected cinemas)
Almost exactly one year after an English language dubbed version of the Mexican computer-animated adventure Little Eggs: An African Rescue rolled into cinemas, the fifth and reportedly final film in the franchise hatches in time for Easter.
Siblings Gabriel and Rodolfo Riva Palacio Alatriste share the director’s chair for a fast-paced romp which begins with pirates kidnapping a polar bear named Polito and three penguin brothers.
The abducted animals are pressganged into performing in a circus but they escape and seek refuge with plucky rooster Toto, his wife Di and their children Uly and Bibi.
Toto agrees to help Polito and the penguins return to their home in the South Pole and he curries the support of family and friends including eggs Confi and Willy and bacon Tocino.
However, the nefarious owners of the circus are determined to reclaim the missing animals.
