Totally Fulfilled
Realize that I didn’t dream up these techniques while I was sitting on the beach one day. Rather, as I said in the introduction, I have lived more, tried more, failed more, succeeded more, and heard I was crazy more than most people ever do. So that means I got to experience a lot more of life in a shorter period of time, and while doing it I was able to retain so much wisdom on what works and what does not. I have been fortunate enough to have some of the most amazing relationships a person can have. I have experienced love for another so strong that I would gladly give up my life for them. I have experienced heights of passion that far outweigh what they write about in romance novels. I have shared friendships with unconditional love and balance. I have had relationships with business partners, mentors, employees, and protégés that have graced my life in ways that I could never place a monetary value on. And I have learned from each and every one of these experi- ences and seen the value they gave my life. But I have also failed in relationships—some in a big way— that have taught me priceless lessons on what not to do. I share this with you because I think it is imperative that you learn from someone who has experienced both sides of the fence and learned from both, rather than someone preaching a theory of one side or the other. So with my personal experience and by modeling others, I have done my best to lay out a simple formula for success in all relationships in all areas of your life and on all levels. Good Relationships Begin with Honest Communication with Yourself The quality of your relationships with your spouse, children, business associates, and even strangers are critical for achieving long-term success. Most people who talk about relationships focus only on what the other person wants, what to look for in a rela- tionship, or what to look for in another person. All of that is very important, but it’s missing a big step.
