A Sunday home game with the North Dundas Rockets finished with a six-all overtime tie-up. Scoring singles for Clarence Creek Saturday night were Austin Laprade, Logan Lefebvre, Patrick Lemay, and Nathan Melée. Assists came from Lefebvre, Lemay, Tyler Baker, and Clifford Matthew. Andrew Larivière guarded the net. Inferno goals came from Colin Gourgon and Benjamin Medynski with assists from Charlie Armstrong, Connor Jones, and Ryan Nugent. Alexander Miotla was in the net. Sunday afternoon’s home game saw the Castors and the Rockets hammer at each through each regular period and into a score- less over-time session. Both teams had to settle for a 6-6 tie. Melée scored two points for Clarence Creek with single goals coming from Clif- ford, Laprade, Lemay, and Samuel Gaudet. Assisting were Clifford, Lefebvre, Lemay, Melée, and Sam Paquette. Corey Camierand guarded the net. Rockets Captain Bradley Stitt punched in a pair of goals. Single points came from As- sistant Captains Brodie Barkley and Connor Roth, and from Philippe Brunet and Justin Lefebvre. Assisting were Lefebvre, Roth, Stitt, Matthew Cowley, Brad Nash, Carter Tait, and Will Watson. Reilly Tondreau blocked the net. Clarence Creek hosts Gatineau Remem- brance Day afternoon over the November 11 weekend. C’est un sport qui gagne beaucoup de terrain dans Clarence-Rockland. « L’an dernier, la réaction au pickleball a vraiment été impressionnante » , a fait valoir Gilles Brunet, l’un des sept directeurs de la ligue de pickleball de Clarence-Rockland. « C’est pourquoi on joue maintenant à l’aréna Jean-Marc Lalonde. » Effectivement, les joutes ont repris le premier novembre dernier. Une quarantaine de membres de la ligue se sont réunis afin de disputer plusieurs matchs entre amis. Mais bien que ceux-ci soient amicaux, il existe quand même un certain niveau de compétition. « Nous avons des joueurs pour tous les gouts, a souligné M. Brunet. Cer- tains sont compétitifs, tandis que d’autres jouent pour le plaisir seulement. » Les joueurs occupent un total de neuf terrains, qui respectent le même format que les terrains de badminton. Tout récemment, une armée de bénévoles de la ligue a tra- vaillé avec acharnement afin de transformer l’ancienne patinoire en endroit parfait pour le pickleball. « Nous avons dû rectifier la surface du sol, puisque c’était vraiment glissant » , a expliqué le directeur. Les membres ont aussi gratté afin d’enle- ver les anciennes lignes et les ont ensuite remplacées. Le tout donne un air unique
The Clarence-Rockland Pickleball league began playing on November first, at the Jean-Marc Lalonde arena. The league hopes to attract even more members than last year. Members of the community are invited to come play Sundays and Tuesdays, from 10 a.m. to noon, Wednesdays, from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. and on Thursdays, from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. The cost for non-members is $5. Les joueurs doivent être âgés de plus de 18 ans et doivent se procurer leurs propres raquettes. M. Brunet a expliqué que le pickleball, un sport très répandu dans le Sud des É tats-Unis, a été ramené au Canada par des retraités. « Quand c’est arrivé ici, c’est vrai- ment devenu populaire » a-t-il fait remarquer. Selon un amateur du pickleball, ce sport est pratiqué par des individus qui veulent autre chose que le hockey sur glace.

Vankleek Hill The Vankleek Hill Cougars added another win to their record this season in the National Capital Junior Hockey League. The Cougars beat the Gatineau Hull-Volant 6-4 at home over the first weekend of November. The Cougars dominated first period, with three unanswered goals. Gatineau got onto the scoreboard in second period but could not close the gap the Cougars had made. Scoring for Vankleek Hill were Ryan Allen and Nikolas Ayotte with two goals each. Single points came from Nicolas Castonguay and Jonathan Leblanc. Assisting on the goals were Castonguay, Leblanc, Shayne Allen, Tyler Dopelhamer, Justin Labrosse, Keean McEachern, and Jacob Victor. Sébastien Moreau guarded the Vankleek Hill net. Bertrand Cédrik scored two points for Gatineau with teammates Mathieu Des Ruis- seaux and Jeremy Trudeau tallying singles. Cédrik, Des Ruisseaux, and Denis Gratton assisted on goals, with Mitchell Alastair and Alex Ouimet sharing goalkeeping duty. The Cougars are in St-Isidore Remem- brance Day evening over the November 11 weekend.
St-Isidore Les Aigles de St-Isidore clipped the Gatin- eau Hull-Volant 3-1 during their November 2 road game in Gatineau. Sunday at home they pounded the Bytown Royals 12-5. Jacob Brunette punched in a pair of goals for St-Isidore against the Volant with Nickolas Roy tallying a single. Goal assists came from Zackary Bougie, Kalvin Cormier, Tyler Druce, Kevin Howson, and Frédérik Laflèche. Lucas De Vries guarded the St-Isidore net. Simon Hupé scored the lone Gatineau goal with help from Bertrand Cédrik. Sunday against the Royals saw Kevin Howson with a four-goal hat trick for St- Isidore, while Richard Cayer and Tyler Druce each tallied a pair of goals. Scoring singles to round out the score were Bougie, Brunette, Laflèche, and Jeremy Arbour.
