WORLD’S DEEPEST GARBAGE PIT Mariana Trench, which is located in the western Pacific Ocean, is 6 miles deep. It’s the latest destination of the most rubbish species on the planet, called trash. The trench is even more contaminated than the polluted rivers of China. This trench could be subject to the butterfly effect, which means cause and effect. For example, if one person didn’t put trash in these trenches, then maybe others wouldn’t. This channel is not the only waterway filled with trash. The first trench which is 10,000-16,000 feet deep is also filled with garbage. For centuries we have be warned about the dangers that might be lurking deep underwater. You might imagine the evil monsters, giant sea creatures, or man-eating mermaids but the answer is trash. Trash is everywhere! From the land to the sea and air, even from the world’s largest gyres to Galapagos Island. Serenity Guy Savannah Hires Lilly Turnbo Tanner Morgan The Mariana Trench is 36,070 feet below sea level. In comparison, Mt. Everest stands at 29,026 feet (8,848 mi) above sea level, so the Mariana Trench is 7,044 feet (2,147 mi) deeper than Mt. Everest is tall . The Mariana Trench also houses some of the scariest, most bizarre creatures too! In addition to the dragon fish (pg 14), here are a few more of these scary creatures! https://www.unbelievable-facts.com/2014/07/the-mariana-trench-creature.html / https://www.livescience.com/23387-mariana-trench.html

In oceanography, a gyre is any large system of circulating ocean currents, particularly those involved with large wind

movements. Gyres are caused by the Coriolis effect; planetary vorticity along with horizontal and vertical friction, determine the circulation patterns from the wind stress curl. Wikipedia
