This was the gift of the stu dents, who especially enjoyed their friend’s astonished embarrassment when .he was called to the platform and seated in, the chair by Mr. Horton, who made the pres entation speech. Prayer and the benedic tion closed a very pleasant evening. Dr. Carter’s address cannot be too highly commended, and it was warmly received by the sympathetic audience. We have pub lished a large part of it on pages — .— of this issue, and wish our readers would bring it to the attention of their friends, especially those young men and women who in these days of doubt need just such a strong, clear, presentation of facts. Of the graduates, fane expects to go to Japan, two to Africa, two .to South Amer ica and three to enter the work in the home fields. The Outgoing Missionaries.
Any Board of Missions would be fortunate in securing a band of men and women so well qualified and thoroughly trained as. are these five choice servants of the Lord. We. believe this is but the beginning of a mighty missionary movement among the young people of this state, which will event uate"in the enriching of"'all' of the great white, fields with men and women devoted to Christ and ready to lay their ' lives
