Her hands and feet were bound with neckties – one being a blue tie with small Ca- nadian flag emblems, known as “the Canadian tie.” OPP Forensics has created a 3-D clay facial reconstruction of the Nation River Lady, which can be seen here, and has her fingerprints and DNA on file. The hope is that the public can assist in identifying the woman and assist in furthering this investigation. The Ontario Provincial Police are seeking the public’s help in identifying a deceasedwoman, who has become known as the Nation River Lady, that was found inMay 1975 in the Nation River near the Highway 417 bridge, south of Casselman. She is described as Caucasian, aged 25-50 years old, between 5’2” and 5’8” in height, weighing approximately 100 pounds with natural brown hair that was dyed a reddish blond, had an appendix scar and wore partial upper and lower dentures. La première ministre de l’Ontario, Kathleen Wynne, a annoncé la création d’un ministère des Affaires francophones à part entière, le lundi 31 juillet. Ça fait 30 ans qu’un Office des affaires francophones existe, mais cette annonce trans- forme celui-là en ministère autonome, qui sera dirigé par Marie-France Lalonde. Mme Lalonde est la députée d’Ottawa-Orléans et était déjà à la tête de l’Office des affaires francophones. L’Assemblée de la francophonie de l’Ontario (AFO) a communiqué son soutien via un com- muniqué de presse : « Nous avons hâte de connaître les détails de l’annonce par rapport au mandat, au fonctionnement et au financement, » a déclaré Carol Jolin, le président de l’AFO. La création de ce ministère a suscité des réactions favorables de la communauté franco-ontarienne. « C’est un signal fort et un engagement majeur du gouvernement de l’Ontario… », a déclaré Nathalie Grenier, la présidente du Réseau de développent économique et d’employabilité (RDÉE Canada) – Alexia Marsillo Le groupe de discussion bilingue LGBTQ + Alliés, qui a lieu chaque deuxième jeudi du mois, auront lieu dorénavant au Complexe sportif Robert Hart- ley (425, boulevard Cartier) de Hawkesbury.
