François Turpin nommé directeur associé
L’ORIGNAL| François Turpin commencera ses nouvelles fonctions à titre de directeur de l’éducation associé, au Conseil scolaire de district catholique de l’Est ontarien, à compter du 1er août 2013. La candidature de M. Turpin a été retenue suivant un processus de sélection amorcé en février 2013. Le conseil a adopté une nouvelle structure administrative dans le but de préparer la relève. Par conséquent, M. Turpin deviendra donc le prochain directeur de l’éducation au moment où Céline Cadieux, la directrice de l’éducation actuelle, prendra sa retraite.
M. Turpin occupe le poste de surinten- dant de l’éducation depuis quatre ans. Au- paravant, il a occupé les postes de directeur du Service de l’aménagement linguistique, directeur adjoint de l’école secondaire catholique régionale de Hawkesbury, con- seiller pédagogique et naturellement il a été enseignant. M. Turpin s’est également distingué sur le plan provincial de 2006 à 2008, à titre d’agent de projet au Centre de leadership en éducation (CLÉ) où il accompagnait huit (8) écoles secondaires de langue française de l’Ontario pour l’amélioration du rende-
ment de l’élève. Il a offert des formations sur mesure au niveau provincial, pour répondre aux besoins des écoles. M. Turpin a également été conseiller pédagogique au Centre franco-ontarien de ressources pédagogiques (CFORP), dans le domaine des sciences, de l’éducation phy- sique, des technologies éducatives et au- tres. En plus d’un brevet d’agent de super- vision, il détient une maîtrise en éducation, un baccalauréat en éducation avec spé- cialisation en sciences et biologie, de même qu’en éducation physique et en santé. Il a également une spécialisation en études su-

Des participants de la municipalité et de Brownsburg-Cha- tham, Saint-André d’Argenteuil et Lachute étaient présents. L’activité touchait les as- pects socioculturels, tels que mieux man- ger et bouger davantage et les aspects économiques qu’une municipalité et ses organismes peuvent initier pour favoriser de saines habitudes. Le Centre culturel Le Chenail a annoncé le lancement de son nouveau site Web, www. lechenail1975.com, le 15 mai à Hawkes- bury. «De nos jours, une présence virtu- elle est absolument nécessaire sinon nous n’existons pas vraiment» a affirmé la prési- dente du Centre culturel Le Chenail, Paula Assaly.
