Easy Anywhere Exercises THAT ALLOW YOU TO WORK OUT ON THE GO

Planks A favorite of employees who take part in regular in-office exercise, a plank may not look like much, but it’s actually a great way to work on your core. A plank is basically a pushup, the only difference being that you place your forearms, rather than your hands, against the ground. Tighten your abs, making sure to engage as many muscle groups as possible, and hold your position for as long as you can. Walking Walking is the most versatile exercise there is, so it’s a shame many people ignore it. If you sit at work, take a few minutes every hour to get up and move around. Have an errand that’s not too far from home? Walk there! Studies have shown that walking can lower your body mass index (BMI), blood sugar, and cholesterol, as well as improve memory and cognitive function. Who wouldn’t want those benefits, especially when they’re so easy to attain?

Even if you’re a regular gym goer, there are always times when you won’t be able to make it to a workout. Whether you’re on vacation, at a work event, or just shuttling the kids from one place to another, it can be hard to make time for a trip to a dedicated fitness facility. While you may not be able to replicate your regular regimen on the go, that shouldn’t stop you from getting a little exercise. You can perform the following movements anywhere without special equipment, making them great for times when the gym is not an option.

Squats Squats aren’t only a great way to strengthen your thighs and back; they

also teach you proper lifting posture, which can help reduce the risk of back injuries. To perform a squat, simply maintain a straight back and attempt to touch your glutes to the back of your calves, and then slowly rise to a standing position. Try performing sets of 10–25 reps until you determine a number that works for you.

Our lives are busier than ever, but if we’re mindful, we can still squeeze in fitness anywhere. Don’t let your schedule be an excuse for ignoring your wellness.
