Auxiliary Services

Alarm Detail – The goal of the Alarm Detail Unit is to reduce the amount of false alarm calls every year. By reducing the number of false alarms, it allows patrol officers to handle fewer calls and be available in the field. The unit was able to generate 787 invoices for both business and residence permit holders. The 787 invoices generated $52,280.00 dollars for the year. A total of 599 false alarm notices were submitted to the unit. Honor Guard – The EPPD Honor Guard assisted with several City of El Paso groundbreaking events such as the El Paso Zoo penguin exhibit, Nuestra Senora housing complex, and the New Far East Police Substation for the El Paso Police Department. EPPD Honor Guard also assisted with Color Guard requests including the Opening Ceremonies for EPFD Station 11, multiple libraries, Jessie Moreno Happiness Center, EPFD Dispatcher Garcia Room Dedication, and the Sun Metro Brio. Some of the ceremonies stood out due to the positive feedback received such as First Responder’s Night at the Southwest University Ballpark, an All-Female Color guard at the Veteran Women’s Day Brunch, and honoring our Fallen Officer/Veterans at the Wreaths Across America ceremony at Fort Bliss Cemetery. Additionally, EPPD Honor Guard had the tremendous honor of assisting in several Active Duty/Line of Duty Funerals for Fallen Officers from El Paso including Sgt. Gerardo Morales and Sgt. Santos Perez, who passed away from Covid-19 illness. Line of Duty Honors requests came from Euless PD for Detective Alejandro Cervantes and for Dallas PD Officer Jacob Arellano.
