As for collaborative projects, I have exciting plans to feature several female artists on my upcoming EP. By combining our talents and styles, we can produce something truly exceptional. PSP: Breaking into the music industry can be challenging for aspiring DJs, regardless of gender. What advice would you give to young women who are just starting their journey as DJs and seeking recognition for their talent? DJ COCO BROWN: My advice to young women starting their DJ journey is to be clear about their goals and be relentless in pursuing them. Embrace your dreams and work diligently to achieve them.

Brands and event organizers should trust women DJs with collaborations and bookings, allowing them to showcase their talent and creativity. By fostering an environment that

promotes sisterhood and collaboration, we can thrive collectively.

PSP: You've played numerous gigs locally and shared your mixes on radio stations. What has been the most rewarding experience or accomplishment in your DJing career so far? DJ COCO BROWN: Winning Boilerroom in 2022 has been the most precious and rewarding experience in my DJing career. Competing against some of the best DJs in the country and securing the gold was an incredible achievement. It reaffirmed my dedication to my craft and my ability to make a mark in the industry. PSP: Women's Month is an opportunity to inspire and motivate others. Have you had any influential female mentors or role models in the music industry who have guided or inspired you along the way? DJ COCO BROWN: In the early stages of my career, I looked up to DJ Zinhle as a pioneering figure in the male-dominated DJ industry. She showed that women can lead the way and excel in their passion. I've been fortunate to have mentors, not just in music but in various aspects of life, and their guidance has been invaluable.
