One year of heartache, tears and loss has sped by since Nolin’s sudden departure for heaven. We rejoice knowing he is safe in the arms of Jesus and has been reunited with family and friends. However, not a day goes by but that we think of him, love him and miss him. We keep his memory alive by looking at photos and reminiscing about his interests, talents, words and work – daily Bible readings and prayer, wisdom and guidance, faithful church attendance and get togethers, playing games like Stock Ticker, Dutch Blitz, Risk and Crokinole, baking sourdough pancakes, bread and those special donuts truly enjoyed by his grandchildren, his love of honey and maple syrup, gardening, special occasions, telephone calls, his hearty laugh and tremendous sneeze, family vacations - especially in Newfoundland, visits with family and friends no matter how distant, his hospitality, joy of singing, time spent working on puzzles, maintaining the cottage and the “Whitehouse,” building the treehouses, working on the CN and VIA railroads, fishing, hunting, walks in the bush, repairing vehicles and being a good neighbor. Our thoughts turn to him when we see an approaching train or hear its familiar whistle. We long for one more conversation, one more hug, one more visit with him sitting or rocking in his mother’s chair while regaling us with stories of times past. How blessed we were to share life with him. Although we had looked forward to celebrating this year’s birthday together, we wish him a “Happy 90 th in heaven where we hope his “mansion” sits near God’s throne. We will treasure Nolin in our hearts until we meet again. Loving wife Winona and Family
