Biola Broadcaster - 1966-01

Q . San Bernardino, Calif. — “Please ex plain Luke 28:31 which reads, ‘For if they do these things in a green tree, what shall be done in the dry?’ ” A. These are the words of our Lord Jesus Christ. Read the preceeding verses for the context. Start at verse 27. The Saviour died, the just One for us the unjust, that He might bring us to God. He foretold the coming days when the terrible hours of that moment would seem very calm and tame. The greatest tragedy of all time was to have crucified the Lord of glory. While it was a dark day God turned it into marvelous light through the death of His Son. The meaning is that if people would do such things when the situation is favorable, when Messiah Himself w a s actually on earth, what is going to be done in the coming hour when situations are much more difficult. Declension will have gone much further, as is suggested concerning the prophecy of the Tribu lation. Q . Newton, Kans. — “How can we teach our children morality and clean living when all they see on television, in films and in books whets their appe tites for shameful living ?n A. This is probably one of the great est problems parents face today. You should be careful as to what you allow your children to see. The same goes for what books they read. You can’t keep the birds from flying over their heads, but you can do your part in seeing to it that they don’t build nests in their hair. The most significant way to help our young people is by being moral and upright ourselves. So many times parents are inclined merely to send their children to Sunday school. That lasts for a short time. The child soon sees the light. He also knows when Dad takes a “short cut” on his taxes, or stretches the truth here and there. Next, strengthen the battle ments of your home through a solid family altar. Don’t give up in despair just because you may have failed once copy of this publication, please pass it along to a friend so that he may also enroll in the Plan and receive these helpful monthly features from the broadcasts.
