MALAYSIAN TECHNOLOGY STRATEGIC OUTLOOK 2019/2020

Developmental Impact This technology does not only shift the manual labour intensive to the high technology intensive, but it also shifts the core of operators’ skill from raw human energy to intelligent based operations. This is expected to improve overall productivity and, mitigate fatigue factor commonly found in human driven operations. Based on recent CTRM AC development, for the same component that normally takes sixteen (16) working hours to complete throughmanual layup, it now can be completed in less than eight (8) hours using AFP. The larger the panel’s dimension, the more significant reduction on cycle time evident. AFP has also broadened CTRM AC capability where multiple component can be combined into single component with substantial dimension up to 8-meters long and 3-meters width. Through this, we can remove localize reinforcement area for previous assembly point through redesign. By doing so, panels produced will be lighter than current panels assembled. Adoption of advanced production method does not only provide CTRM AC with technological edge, but also send positive repel effects down into area such as development of local expertise and, coupled with significant positive economic impact to our country.
