Soaring Aigles land one win and one loss

The Panthers quickly responded with their own goal, with 8:07 left in the period. Scored by NathanBoles, hewas assisted by Cody Lavictoire and JulienGrégoire. Boles leads his team in scoring, with a whopping 15 goals. The third period saw the Panthères deepen their 3-1 lead. Renaud scored his second goal of the game and his eighth goal of the season, assisted by Roy and Tyler Cayen. The Aigles then faced the Vankleek Hill Cougars on November 22, at the St-Isidore arena. “Our game plan was to have as many shots on net as possible,” explained Lalonde. “I mentioned to players that I wanted a minimum of 30 shots during the game.” The Cougars managed to score twice in the third period, while the Aigles only recorded one goal. The second period saw the home team’s offence
obliterate their opponent.The Aigles’ attackers scored five goals, while the Cougars only managed one. However, in a last ditch effort, the Vankleek Hill players rebounded, scoring three goals in the third period. “The Cougars took advantage of our weak- nesses in the defensive zone and scored three goals in 2 minutes,” said Lalonde. Pascal Larocque crushed the hopes of the visiting Cougars, by scoring a powerplay goal and sealing the Aigles’ win, with four minutes left in the match. “We also know that our offense is capable of scoring several goals,” expressed Lalonde. “It’s our defensive play that gives us problems. The St-Isidore Aigles faced two of their most bitter rivals, on November 20 and 22, the Embrun Pan- thères and the Vankleek Hill Cougars.
