Le projet de la gare de Bourget est une initiative en cours de 1,5 million de dollars visant à la restauration du patrimoine et au
réaménagement communautaire. Il consiste à transformer une gare histo- rique du Chemin de fer Canadien Pacifique datant de 1893 en un pôle communautaire et touristique moderne et polyvalent. La gare est située le long du sentier récréatif Prescott et Russell, long de 77 kilomètres (désormais relié au Sentier
transcanadien). Bien que la gare ne voie pas le retour d’un service ferroviaire actif, le projet en fera la première grande infrastructure d’accueil du sentier.
La Ville de Clarence-Rockland a ap- prouvé une garantie de prêt d’environ 750 000 dollars afin de faire avancer le projet de réaménagement de la gare de Bourget. Officiellement autorisée par le règlement n° 2026-85 lors d’une séance du conseil municipal le 12 août 2026, cette décision vient étayer un accord de prêt conclu avec la société 14802822 Canada Incorporated. La garantie de prêt permettra de financer les aménagements locatifs et les équipe- ments nécessaires au projet de la gare de Bourget. « Cette mesure permettra de faire avancer le projet et de soutenir les investissements nécessaires pour mener à bien les travaux d’aménagement et équiper les installations de la gare en vue de leur utilisation prévue », a déclaré Mario Zanth, maire de Clarence- Rockland, dans un message publié sur les réseaux sociaux. « La Ville reconnaît l’importance de préserver et de valoriser les infrastructures et les atouts qui contribuent à la vitalité de Bourget et de l’ensemble de la communauté de Clarence-Rockland. » À propos du projet de la gare de Bourget Ouverte à l’origine en 1893 sur la ligne du Chemin de fer Canadien Pacifique, la gare a servi de plaque tournante régionale

Residents are encouraged to wear shoes, socks, long pants and long-sleeved shirts when outdoors for extended periods. Light- coloured clothing made of tightly woven fabric can also provide additional protection, as can mesh bug jackets and hats. Residents can also consider using mos- quito repellent according to the manufactu- rer’s directions and using mosquito netting or screened structures when sleeping outdoors. Reducing mosquito breeding sites around
the home is another important preventa- tive measure. Residents are encouraged to remove and empty outdoor containers holding stagnant water, including old tires, wheelbarrows and barrels. Birdbath water should be changed at least once a week.
