Unveiling of "State Champion"Tree Displays On Tuesday September 25th the rains held off long enough to permit Chairman, John Tuck, and ANCC Foundation President, Joe Barth, to officially unveil the displays for our two "State Champion" trees (largest of its variety in the state): a pin oak tree and a blackjack oak tree.

The significance of the two trees was revealed during surveys which preceded the permitting of the new ANCC Arlington clubhouse. Seeing educational opportunity, your ANCC Foundation, working with the Arlington County Urban Forestry Manager, provided the funding, research and project management expertise to develop the two displays. The goal of this and future ANCC Foundation projects is to foster a better understanding and appreciation for ANCC's two beautiful campuses and their histories. Additional information on these trees can be found on the tree plaques, in the ANCC Foundation's "Did You Know" article in the August 2018 ANCC "Newsletter", and on the ANCC Foundation website, anccfoundation.org.
