Les Vikings amorcent 2018 avec deux victoires !

Once again, the Panthers quickly found the back of the net – Joey Larcher scored for his team 36 seconds into the third period. The Timberwolves narrowed the Panthers’ lead to 4-3 with a powerplay goal tenminutes into the period, but could not tie it up. The Panthers took home the victory 4-3. The Panthers suffered a tough loss on Sunday, January 7 after a hard-fought battle against the Alexandria Glens.The two teams were neck and neck throughout the entire game at the Embrun Arena. No goals were scored until the third period, but each team got plenty of shots on net. Glens’ goaltender Nicolas Rousseau saved 39 shots on net, while Panthers’ goalie Jean-Pascal Sabourin blocked 38 shots. Justin Gagnon finally opened the scoring for the Panthers with a powerplay goal two minutes into the last period. The Panthers managed to hold on their lead most of the period, but the Glens fought to the bitter end. Kevin Howson scored a powerplay goal for the Glens with 21 seconds left in the game, forcing overtime. Similarly to the rest of the game, neither team managed to find the back of the net during the five-minute overtime. The Alex- andria Glens won the game 2-1 in shootouts, having scored two shootout goals, while Embrun onlymanaged to put one in the net. The Panthers will take on the Ottawa Ca- nadians next on Friday, January 12 and the Arnprior Packers on Sunday, January 14.
The Embrun Panthers won their first game of the new year against the Renfrew Tim- berwolves and lost their second to the Al- exandria Glens. Braden Zvonarich opened the scoring for the Timberwolves on Friday, January 5 in Renfrew. The Panthers quickly respond- ed with two goals in the first period. Noah Haymes scored threeminutes into the game on the Panthers’ first powerplay. Sevenmin- utes later, Justin Brennan gave Embrun the lead 2-1 at the end of the first.
