Students studying applied music at CCBC Essex will perform selections in a variety of musical styles, both classical and popular.
October 30 Jim Wharton, Music Education Jim Wharton served as the Music department chairman and band and orchestra director at Catonsville High School. Mr. Wharton has received numerous awards for his teaching. A former Baltimore County Teacher of the Year and runner-up Maryland State Teacher of the Year,he has been recognized by the County Executive of Baltimore County for his Excellence in Education and by the Maryland Music
well as a semifinalist in the San Antonio Guitar Festival, University of Louisville Guitar Festival and Florida State Guitar Festival.

November 20 Pop Student Recital Talented CCBC applied music students and ensembles will present a concert of popular, jazz and musical theater selections .
Educators Association as an Outstanding Music Educator. He will present a workshop on music education for the CCBC community.

New Uncertainty Collective is Young-Jun Lee, Zac Fick-Cambria, David Carlton Adams and Jia Yi Lee. They are dedicated to creating, performing, recording, publishing and distributing innovative contemporary music that pushes boundaries, fosters artistic growth and builds community connections. NUC commissions new works, produces high-quality recordings and creates sustainable pathways for composers and performers to develop and share their unique artistic voices.
CCBC Essex applied music students will offer a diverse program of vocal and instrumental classical music ranging from the Baroque to contemporary eras.
December 11 CCBC Chamber Singers in Concert
The CCBC Chamber Singers, under the direction of Dr. Michelle Smith, will present a concert of songs inspired by the music of the ‘60s and ‘70s.
