The Lord has had a purpose in it all, and it has been a time of rich blessing. I have been learning ‘in whatsoever state I am, therewith to be content.’ I think God wants to train us all in the school of contentment. It comes to us in various ways, and is one of the most valuable lessons in life.” Prior to her illness, Miss Hill­ man had been a missionary In India. Tour of Musical Group This summer the Biola String En­ semble, a group of five young women who have been attending the Bible Institute of Los Angeles, plan to make a six-weeks’ tour into the Northwest, going as far north as Vancouver, Can. The personnel of the group includes Marguerite Johnson, Janice Bailey, Virginia Sackett, Florence Gunn, and Jeanne McIntosh. Miss N a ( f i ne K. Warner of the Institute faculty is to travel with the group. The program which they present makes use of three violins, cello,’ piano, vibra-harp, ac­ cordion, guitar, trumpet, vocal num­ bers, and the personal testimonies of the group members. They expect to hold about fifty meetings with vari­ ous churches, including outdoor meet­ ings and children’s meetings. With the Lord Word was received May 30 from Mrs. Carl Clark of Ithaca, N. Y., of the death of her aunt, Mrs. Harriet Ransom Horton, the widow of Dr. T. C. Horton. The Institute is deeply in­ debted to Mrs. Horton for her service here, a service that was sacrificial and without remuneration. Paul Albert Jones, the six-months- old son of William R. (’33) and Mrs. Jones of Bluefields, Nicaragua, C. A., was taken to be with the Saviour on May 13. Mr. and Mrs. Jones are mem­ bers of the Central American Mission. Word has come to the Alumni As­ sociation recently of the death of Mrs. James Laidlaw (Agnes Muir, ’22) oh June 8, 1941. Mr. Laidlaw lives at 3315 E. 15th St., Long Beach, Calif. Mrs. Elmer C. Vori Allmeh (Olive Elizabeth Hanson), who attended the Bible Institute from 1937 to 1939, went Home to be with the Lord on May 9, after a short illness. She leaves a little daughter, Joy Ellen (a month old at the time of Mrs- Von Allmen’s death), her husband, Elmer Charles Von Allmen, her mother, Mrs. Cora Hanson, and one sister:, Avis M. Han­ son (Biola ’36). Mr. Von Allmen can be reached at Route 5, Box 859, Mo­ desto, Calif.
