Fort Worth Police Department Strategic Plan

Goal 3: Continuously build relationships with diverse populations within the City of Fort Worth to create and expand the future recruiting base. Experts and police officers say, a force that racially and ethnically reflects the population of the community can improve relations between police and residents, dispel mistrust, and communicate more effectively. Creating an ethnically and racially diverse police force, part of the President’s Task Force on 21st Century Policing, will result in a multi-cultured Department that better understands and connects with the diverse issues in a community, and is more effective at policing.
