Patrol Division Population Projections When examining population projections in each of the five current patrol divisions, North and West Patrol Divisions expect the highest population increases by 2035, with 328,314 and 274,579 respectively. This projection of 61,018 new residents within the current North Patrol Division boundary represents a 23% increase in an area that is a home to 34% of the City’s current population. West Patrol Division expects to grow by 119,602 residents, an increase of 77%.

Another standard method to analyze projected population growth patterns is to map historic and projected population centers within a city (Fort Worth). The map to the right depicts the geographic center of population by patrol division: in 2000, 2010, and 2035. Based on the 2000 and 2010 Census data, the North Patrol Division had the greatest degree of change in population center. When the NCTCOG projected 2035 data is added, there is an expected outward migration for all patrol divisions except Central Patrol Division, with the largest outward migration projected in the North, West and South Patrol Divisions. This Strategic Plan outlines several “big ticket” capital needs deemed critical to police operations. The Capital Improvement Plan assists the City in ranking and prioritizing all needs citywide so that the City can formulate fiscally responsible strategies to plan for anticipated expenditures.
