Fort Worth Police Department Strategic Plan

SIXTH PATROL DIVISION (FUNDED) During the next few years, three new patrol divisions will need to break ground. The City is proactively working to facilitate this by creating a Sixth Patrol Division in north Fort Worth. The FWPD received authorization from the City Council to implement a Sixth Division staffing plan, increasing the total authorized positions incrementally over a three-year period beginning in FY16 to hire and train new staff, while simultaneously developing the facility site, which is located just southeast of Alliance Town Center. There will be a realignment of the existing five patrol divisions to accommodate the sixth patrol division once facility construction is complete in late 2017 (early 2018). The Crime Control and Prevention District fully funded this $14M project.  Design-Build firm selected in February 2016.  Land acquired and in the process of rezoning and re-platting—site located at 8795 N. Riverside Drive. The site design accommodates 7000-10,000 sf of additional (or unfinished) space to plan for expected future growth.  Project completion anticipated in late 2017.  Project will improve police service and create stronger community-police ties and partnerships in this rapidly growing area.
