Police Facility Projects (UNFUNDED)
The Police Department will work with the City Manager’s Office to weigh these priorities against overall City needs in upcoming bond programs. #1 Ranked Unfunded Project: South Patrol Division Facility (8 th Patrol Division) As mentioned in other sections, the City plans for extensive growth southward as a result of the completion of Chisholm Trail Parkway, the future site of Tarleton State University, and various business and residential developments. As improvements and expansion continues
southward, the FWPD must also consider targeting an effective site for a future South facility, staffing, and the beat realignments to create an 8th Patrol Division . FWPD will request funding for this facility project in the 2018 Bond Program. At this time, South Patrol Division operates from two facilities. The Bolt Street facility, built in 1977, was formerly an oil & pipeline supply facility acquired and remodeled in 1990, and has no room to accommodate future growth. The second is the McCart Road facility. FWPD leases this property, and it is in generally good condition, however, its size makes it more suitable as a storefront alternative, rather than a primary patrol location.

#2 Ranked Unfunded Project: Far West Patrol Division Facility (7 th Patrol Division) Numerous concept plans for additional far west developments were submitted to the City, and have been the precursor for rapid growth in the near term, so it is reasonable to assume extensive development westward near the Walsh Ranch development. In preparation for this growth, the City has begun its process to identify an ideal site for a Fire facility in west Fort Worth, and must now consider and analyze the potential for a 7 th Patrol Division . FWPD will request funding for this facility project in the 2018 Bond Program.
