Fort Worth Police Department Strategic Plan

#3 Ranked Unfunded Project: Relocate Staff from 350 W. Belknap Street and Eliminate Central Patrol Division Leases

This multifaceted project is included as a priority in the FWPD’s Five-Year Strategic Plan, the City’s Five-Year Capital Improvement Plan, and the City’s Comprehensive Plan. The City of Fort Worth is in the process of completing the long anticipated sale of 350 W. Belknap for $13.5M to Tarrant County. Until recently, this location had served as the FWPD Administration Building since 1984. The groundbreaking of the Bob Bolen Public Safety Complex (May 2015), a state-of-the-art facility consisting of a new Joint Police and Fire Training Academy and Administration building alleviated some of the concerns regarding pending relocation of staff from 350 W. Belknap

Street. Affectionately called “Bob Bolen,” the new complex enabled some training and administrative functions, like the former Joint Training Academy at 1000 Calvert and Internal Affairs, Finance, and Administration, to relocate to accommodate development of the Trinity River Vision Project, but the movement of other critical FWPD units fromBelknap Street are far from complete.

The following figure shows work groups relocated into long-term facilities to date:
