A good first degree or equivalent in any subject with a relevant degree/ postgraduate qualification or substantial vocational and relevant broad management experience in similar or related roles Membership of an appropriate professional body (e.g. IEMA, CIWM) Evidence of relevant ongoing CPD training (with a focus on built environment, behaviour change, EMS) IEMA Lead auditing course or equivalent training/ auditing experience Knowledge / skills Able to demonstrate broad expert knowledge of operational sustainability impacts and management of these for a university estate Good knowledge of environmental management systems and well-devel- oped auditing skills Up to date knowledge of environmental legislation and best practice in environmental management Proven interpersonal and communication skills including the capacity to engage, and persuade a wide range of stakeholders and build up strong relationships and networks Excellent computer skills, including the ability to provide reports, carry out accurate data analysis, produce presentation material and contribute to maintaining external and internal webpages, SharePoint, social media etc. Experience Experience in a similar role working in/ advising a complex organisation successfully embedding sustainability into their activities Operating effective ISO14001 or equivalent accredited environmental man- agement system (EMS) X Successful project management and people management including man- agement of contractors/ suppliers X X X Proven success in driving successful organisational culture change Successfully working with project teams on new build/ refurbishment pro- jects to provide sustainability guidance X X X X X X X X Knowledge of sustainable procurement practices
