On March 4, Constable Mines of the Cornwall Community Police Service assisted the Ministry of Transportation (MTO) with the launch of Operation Wheel Check, an initiative recently by the MTO that includes a zero-tolerance approach to any trucks found to have any wheel defects and targeted inspection initiatives. When defects are found, trucks are immediately taken off the road and not allowed back into operation until the trucks are brought into compliance.
