ATV-VTTCEO, Eastern Ontario ATV Club, held a support, awareness and fundraising event for VETS Canada (Veterans Emergency Transition Services) last weekend on Sunday, November 12, right in time to honor Remembrance Day. The Ride for VETS was able to raise $3020 for the non-profit organization, whichwill go to help its housing program for homeless veterans, amongst other support programs. About 75 people registered for the event for a total of 60 to 65 ATVs on for the 100 km route beginning in Saint-Pascal-Baylon. The riders passed through Larose Forest to stop at the Grant Cemetery where several soldiers are buried, made it all the way to Alfred for a lunch stop and back to Saint-Pascal-Baylon. This is the first Ride for VETS the ATV has organized, and nowplans onmaking it an annual event. ButchThompson, ATV-VTTCEOmember, organizer of this event and a veteran himself can be seen here, along with Jennifer Gribbon, VETS Field Operations manager and the ATVCEO club president, Tony Weir (from left to right). —submitted photo
