WMDH : Auxiliary completes $300,000 donation WINCHESTER | The Winchester and Dis- trict Memorial Hospital Auxiliary recently provided the final pledge payment for 35 state-of-the-art intravenous pumps total- ling $300,000.

The Auxiliary has agreed to provide 18 more IV pumps. The money will be raised through donations, the Gift Shoppe, the an- nual fall Bazaar, and the In Memoriam Fund. Les élèves de la classe de Joyce Char- trand, enseignante de sciences à l’École publique de la Rivière Castor à Embrun, ont participé à un projet en partenari- at avec l’Insectarium de Montréal. La classe a reçu des chenilles et des chry- salides de papillons monarques avec une plante d’asclépiade. Ils ont observé la toute première sortie du papillon de sa chrysalide en déroulant ses ailes encore humides. Le lendemain, Mme Chartrand et ses élèves ont collé un tout petit collant sur une aile du papil- lon avec un chiffre inscrit dessus. Ils ont noté les conditions météorologiques, pris note du sexe du papillon et l’ont déposé sur une fleur à l’extérieur pour qu’il ait la chance de butiner un peu de nectar avant de partir vers le Mexique.
