Employee Safety Incidents
We also regularly update and communicate our policies governing high-risk activities within Trex operations that have the potential to cause significant injury or death. These include motor vehicle accidents, falls from heights, fires, explosions and incidents involving machinery or heavy objects. We take a preventative approach to risk. Rules to Live By, an initiative formally launched in 2025, ensures our workforce clearly understands Trex safety practices related to manufacturing equipment, powered vehicles, lockout/tagout procedures, working in confined spaces and other potentially hazardous situations. As part of this initiative, Trex EH&S specialists work closely with frontline manufacturing employees to identify and address potential risks before they result in an accident or injury. In addition, our Find It, Fix It hazard reporting program encourages employees to proactively report safety concerns to their supervisor, an EH&S specialist or a member of the Plant Safety Committee before an incident occurs. Our Safety Steering Committee, composed of senior leaders and managers from all functional areas, meets monthly to review Trex safety performance data, analyze incident reports and corrective actions and share ideas to enhance safety companywide. The committee is part of our three-tiered approach to reviewing,
tracking and addressing health and safety concerns at all organizational levels—ensuring every issue is resolved. In 2025, the committee also oversaw a job hazard analysis for non- standard work activities and implemented a bi-weekly review of safety work orders to strengthen accountability and drive continuous improvement. Our FAST Response program is an additional mechanism to act on EH&S concerns. Representatives from our manufacturing operations leadership and other personnel attend weekly FAST Response meetings focused on identifying and correcting safety non-compliance cases and preventing incidents. In addition, we enhanced our data collection and assessment systems to enable better analysis of EH&S-related statistical indicators across the company.
floor as part of maintaining constant vigilance over the waste materials we recycle. Company leaders take daily walks through our production facilities to observe current practices and identify opportunities for ongoing safety improvement. We maintain orderly work environments and employ dedicated housekeeping teams to keep production areas free of clutter. Our approach also integrates lean management principles to enhance both efficiency and safety. In 2025, we instituted regular companywide report-out meetings to allow operational leaders to escalate site-level safety issues for cross-functional collaboration. We also launched a Safety Observation Card Program, recognizing employees who identify or correct workplace hazards. To maintain accountability, we continued conducting internal audits at our facilities based on the 5S Lean Principles. These audits provide immediate feedback to frontline leaders. Audit findings also informed Trex maintenance and engineering improvements. In 2025, we launched a 5S playbook to help more effectively document and manage EH&S matters across operations.
Our ongoing investments have helped us steadily reduce the number and severity of employee safety incidents across Trex operations. In 2025, Trex’s lost-time incident rate (LTIR) was 0.69, a 27% decrease from our 2024 LTIR of 0.95. We also achieved a reduced total recordable incident rate (TRIR) of 2.16 compared to 3.24 in 2024, down by 33%. Both rates remained well below the industry average. We continue to reinforce EH&S practices by eliminating root causes of severe injuries and providing team members with the communication and training needed to work safely every day. LOGO USAGE
Reducing the Risk of Injuries
Maintaining Clean and Organized Sites
We believe that all workplace accidents and injuries are preventable. To help achieve our goal of eliminating such incidents, we reinforce safe work practices as the top priority for all Trex employees and regularly assess our facilities for potential safety issues.
We continually refine our industrial hygiene practices to help ensure that Trex workplace conditions remain free from physical, ergonomic, chemical and biological hazards. Our teams prioritize minimizing and promptly cleaning any spillage on the factory

1 OSHA defines LTIR as the number of incidents that result in time away from work, divided by the total number of hours that employees worked during a given period. 2 Industry average related to North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code 321999 for the most recent reported year: 2024. 3 OSHA defines TRIR as the frequency of recordable safety incidents per 100 full-time workers annually.
