Safety Training for Employees
Employee Wellness
Expanded in 2025, the EAP offers confidential access to mental health counseling, childcare and parenting resources, eldercare referrals, financial wellness guidance, life coaching and more.
Underscoring our belief that workplace safety is a shared responsibility, we regularly update our employees on safety- related developments and integrate their feedback into our plans for continuous improvement. At the start of every production shift, our floor supervisors and their team members huddle to discuss a predetermined safety topic for the day. This helps raise overall safety awareness and build support for our best practices at the peer-to-peer level. The pre-shift huddles also allow employees to voice issues of concern and initiate rapid responses from Trex leaders. In 2025, we continued to launch informational campaigns that reinforce safety rules. Our annual companywide employee engagement survey included questions geared toward identifying new opportunities to improve Trex’s safety culture. We also used insights from our 2024 Safety Pulse Survey to drive companywide leadership development. Team members’ feedback guided us to focus on accountability for safety performance among our frontline leaders. LOGO USAGE
We educate and train all new employees, including temporary workers, on safety as part of our onboarding process. Newly hired manufacturing employees complete additional health and safety training related to their specific job responsibilities. Failure to complete required safety training can be grounds for disciplinary action, up to and including dismissal. Along with increasing the number of EH&S professionals at our manufacturing facilities in 2025, we continued to train managers and supervisors on hazard awareness and mitigation strategies focused on prevention. Also, we extended our Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) outreach training for EH&S leads and safety committee members. We offer safety trainings in both Spanish and English to help ensure that all team members fully understand the material. By providing bilingual support, we aim to heighten safety knowledge and build a stronger safety culture.
Our Wellness team works closely with their colleagues in EH&S to support the overall well-being of Trex team members. Through our company-sponsored health insurance program, we offer a variety of wellness-oriented benefits, including preventive health screenings, diabetes management programs, weight loss programs and walking challenges. We translate all wellness-related communications, including our health insurance information, into Spanish. Employees who choose to take advantage of our wellness resources are eligible for a reduced out-of-pocket premium on their health insurance. Approximately 100% of team members qualified to participate in our health insurance program in 2025, of which about 90% chose to join. In addition, 38% of eligible team members enrolled in our wellness plan. Our companywide Employee Assistance Program (EAP) includes comprehensive resources to help nurture the mental and emotional well-being of Trex team members and their families.
