Join us on this trip to Northern England, sightseeing some of the best scenery and highlands Scotland has to offer. Day 1 Following collection from home we head north arriving at our overnight hotel, Shap Wells Hotel, in time for the evening meal. Day 2 This morning we head for Southern Scotland and make our way along the shore of Loch Lomond to Crianlarich, arriving late afternoon at Crianlarich Hotel. Day 3 We join the Scotrail train at Crianlarich station for the ride to Oban. The line takes us through the Pass of Brander and alongside Loch Etive. In Oban we have time to explore the town, have a look at the harbour, enjoy lunch and relax. In the afternoon we take the train back to Crianlarich. Day 4 Today we head along Glen Dochart to Killin, with the Falls of Dochart rushing through the village. From here we drive along Loch Tay to Aberfeldy, where we have our lunch break. This afternoon we head south along the Sma’ Glen to Crieff. Here we visit the Glenturret Distillery, makers of the Famous Grouse, for a tour and a wee dram. Our return takes us along Loch Earn and Glen Ogle to Crianlarich. Day 5 We discover one of the hidden wonders of the Highlands. A power station buried deep under Ben Cruachan – the hollow mountain. At its centre lies a massive cavern, high enough to house the Tower of London. The hollow mountain is unique, an underground world on a spectacular scale, a five-star attraction, not to be missed. From here we head north to Fort William. We have time to explore this popular town before we are on our way south alongside Loch Linnhe to Ballachulish and Loch Leven. The Glencoe Visitor Centre is our afternoon break and here you can learn all about the feuding clans and the infamous massacre. We return over rugged and awesome Rannoch Moor to Crianlarich. Day 6 We head south through Loch Lomond National park to our overnight stay in Northern England for our overnight stay at Shap Wells Hotel - dinner, bed and breakfast. Hampshire Heritage Highlights THURSDAY 10TH – MONDAY 14TH AUGUST £650pp This tour takes us throughout Hampshire to discover its heritage highlights with stately homes, beautiful gardens and the stunning city of Winchester and its magnificent cathedral. Day 1 We depart from home and travel to Chineham near Basingstoke where we arrive late afternoon at The Hampshire Court Hotel where Tea/Coffee & biscuits are served on our arrival. Day 2 We are in Jane Austin Country and our first visit today takes us to The Vyne, a beautiful house at Sherborne St. John, now in the care of the National Trust. It was here that Jane attended many dinner dances and social gatherings. From here we ride to Godalming and Winkworth, the National Trust’s only arboretum. The fruits of one man’s vision and passion are this award-winning collection of more than 1000 varieties and shrubs with seasonal flowers on show. Day 3 This morning we visit the historic City of Winchester, with its magnificent Cathedral. Entry is included and we can explore the stunning interior at leisure. Later we have time to obtain lunch in the city centre and explore before we move on to our afternoon stop - Milestones - a living history museum where you wander down cobbled streets, chat with staff in period costume and explore the shops and factories to experience everyday life from 1810 to 1950. Day 4 Our final outing takes us first to the splendid Royal Horticultural Society Garden at Wisley. A place full of inspiration, Wisley offers ideas galore, with Wild Garden, Glasshouse, Model Gardens, Fruit Field, Arboretum and spectacular floral displays. Day 5 After a leisurely breakfast we leave and begin our journey home.
