WARLEY On Monday 5th March 2018, the children were treated to a short performance from the members of Warley Methodist Church. 'Open the Book' is a project that offers primary school children an opportunity to hear the major stories of the bible, presented to them by Christians from local churches during collective worship. The team presented the scripted story of the 'Last Supper' through drama, props, story-telling and audience participation. The children really enjoyed watching this Easter story and were engaged throughout. After the story, there was an opportunity for reflection, which gave the children the time to think on some part of the story or on something which relates directly to them, their friends or family. The church was kind enough to present us with a copy of The Lion Storyteller Bible with audio CDs. Thanks to Mrs Flanagan for the story. PE AWARD UPSKILLING STAFF Abbey is proud to be announced as a regional winner for our use of the PE and sport premium. Building on the successes of last year’s award, this year the school has been credited for its successful training and development of staff.
