BBEY LENS March 2018 Vol 4: Issue No.Forty two Excellence Through Partnership

THE

Digi-choir! Sing up.

CHANGE Across our school we value music and singing as an important experience, not only to bring children together, but to teach them musical skills but to help promote positivity, good mental health and wellbeing. The Junior School children were fortunate to work with Mrs Stidwill (SIPS Music Teacher) who taught the children a catchy new song called 'Be The Change'. The children learnt the song with ease and, with only a couple of practises, had mastered the verses, chorus, harmonies and bridges. Last week we filmed our singers performing this catchy song with its positive message and we have sent the film to Sing Up to be part of their Digichoir 2018. When we get the results of the montage, we shall send you the link. You can enjoy the singing by following this link to our website https://abbey-federation.primarysite.media Thanks to Mrs. Flanagan for the story. STONE AGE A little something from today and our Stone Age experience for the Abbey Lens. Today, Year 3 had a visit from the Stone Age Man. He gave us lots of information about what it was like to live in the Stone Age and how they survived the cold weather. Children did observational drawings of interesting artefacts and also explored what parts of Britain certain animals originated from. Did you know hyenas came from Birmingham? It was such an entertaining and enjoyable day for all of us. Thanks to Miss Vance for the story.
