The hills are alive! With the sound of trekking

MALVERN What a lovely day to spend on the hills. Year 1 enjoyed an outdoor classroom for a day, learning about physical & human features of the country at first hand. Spectacular views of the landscape allowed children to see hills, vegetation, villages, towns, farms and even the Welsh mountains in the distance. We saw a golf course, lake and a railway line almost from a bird’s eye view. Wide open spaces, lots of fresh air and big skies! Wonderful! We were also able to stop and enhance our Science curriculum by identifying a variety of trees on the way. We identified Oak, Ash, Sycamore and Horse Chestnut and could talk about the other trees like Hawthorne & Elderberry. The children were amazing - jumping over the rocks and running up hills. Some even challenged Mrs Lawrence with the pace they wanted to go at! So many children wanted to live there or at least go back for another visit. Thanks to Mrs. Lawrence for the story. SEA SAVERS Amelia, Ralph, Bonneeve and Isla G have mad a club called ‘Sea Savers’ and it’s all about stopping putting your litter in the sea. We have made this club to help people stop littering. If you want to join, it is on every Tuesday at lunch times. Thanks to Bonneeve, Isla-G, Amelia and Ralphie for the story.
