Pastoral Care We adopt a whole-school approach to mental health and wellbeing and strive continuously to provide a supportive and nurturing environment for the whole community to thrive. Through the leadership of the Pastoral team, we work with the children to nurture responsibility, empathy and active participation, ensuring that every pupil’s voice is heard and respected.
Chapel, Charity and Community These important aspects of school life help children to understand the value of compassion and civic responsibility. Each encourages a sense of social awareness and supports a culture of giving back to society. Older pupils listen to and read with the younger children in Pre-Prep, while our younger pupils take part in an intergenerational Opera Project with local care homes. ELEVATING ACADEMIC JOURNEYS St Andrew’s Prep has an unwavering commitment to academic excellence. Its dynamic learning environment and innovative teaching methods paired with the personalised attention afforded to its pupils ensure they thrive academically and intellectually and prepare them for the complexities of the modern world. The Bridge Curriculum Our exciting and dynamic Bridge Curriculum combines the best of the Common Entrance with the National Curriculum and other academic programmes for Year 7 and Year 8. We are confident that our unique programme offers our pupils the best preparation for the demanding exams in their senior schools. • 100% of the 2024 Year 8 cohort received a place to their first school of choice • 40 scholarships were gained in 2023 and 2024 across six disciplines, with over three quarters (78%) of Year 8 leavers moving on to Eastbourne College. Green and Blue Health Our onsite Woodland Classroom offers our pupils a hands- on experience in nature and a significant connection with the natural world. Meanwhile, weekly visits to Beach School just a short two minutes walk away, provides unique opportunities for our children to learn through the wonderful outdoor classroom on our doorstep. Learning Support and English as an Additional Language (EAL) St Andrew’s Prep takes pride in each pupil’s unique journey to success. Our facilities offer pupils the chance to try a huge array of sports with the aim to fuel a passion for a healthy lifestyle beyond school. From grassroots to the elite, the St Andrew’s Prep sports provision aims to develop our pupils’ physical and mental well-being while developing their teamwork and leadership skills in a healthy competitive environment. The school boasts an array of first-class coaches, many of whom have competed at regional, national and even Olympic level. As a result, St Andrew’s Prep enjoys regular representation at county, regional and national competitions and is wholly supportive of individual successes for pupils outside of the school. The creative and performing arts take centre stage at St Andrew’s Prep. EXTENDING THE FAMILY
With a focus on cultivating independence and building lifelong friendships, our boarding programme goes well beyond the ordinary school provision.
Our beautiful boarding house facilities offer a secure and supportive home away from home.
The dedicated House staff include the Head of Boarding, matron, and House tutors. They are warm and approachable and create a genuine sense of community among the pupils. Their years of experience ensure that all issues are dealt with swiftly and carefully and with access to an on-site nurse 24/7, the well-being of our pupils is always a top priority. In addition, the older pupils take on a nurturing role, guiding and supporting younger boarders to create a warm, family- like environment where everyone feels valued and at home. The children have extended access to the school facilities and engage in additional extra-curricular activities and weekend trips, including visits to Chessington World of Adventure, Thorpe Park, Harry Potter World and Madame Tussauds. The opportunity to board full-time, weekly, on a regular flexi-boarding or ad-hoc basis are all available. Pupils from Year 4 are welcome in the House to be part of the boarding family. Colstocks Boarding House was named after Colstocks Farm, which originally stood on the site before the school was founded. The boarding house carries the name of the farm as a tribute to the history of the site and its role in the school’s founding. Colstocks Boarding House provides the complete wrap- around care solution for busy parents, and can even provide a babysitting solution in a safe environment with teachers and peers they know and trust.

FACILITIES St Andrew’s Prep is extremely well-equipped, offering a comprehensive range of facilities to support the development of our pupils. Our Nursery, Pre-Prep and Prep School are all contained within our beautiful 12-acre site, which provides ample space for learning, outdoor activities and recreation.

This booklet has offered you a flavour of what your child could experience with us at St Andrew’s Prep. Below are the next steps for your child to join our school. 1. Get in Touch Please do get in contact with our admissions team on admissions@standrewsprep.co.uk or call her on 01323 744820 to check availability, to discuss your child’s needs and to find out more about St Andrew’s Prep. 2. Open Mornings and School Tours A tour of the school and meeting our staff and pupils will give you a genuine feel for St Andrew’s Prep and whether it is the right fit for your child. You are very welcome to attend one of our Open Mornings or contact Admissions for a personal tour using the QR code opposite. 3. Apply When you are ready, please complete the online registration form (QR code opposite) and pay the registration fee of £180 to begin the admissions process. 4. Book a Taster Day A taster day gives your child the opportunity to meet their future classmates and teachers and allows us to assess their skills, knowledge and understanding. 5. Receive an Offer Following satisfactory school references (if appropriate) and feedback from the taster day, we will send you an offer of a place. 6. Register your Child Once you accept the offer, we will guide you through the final steps. Our team is on hand to support you at every stage.

Our Open Mornings take place on normal Friday and Saturday school days. We don’t change how the school runs. What you see on those days is what your child will experience when they join us.
