Sunday, March 10 Girl Scout Sunday Wear uniform to church and perform an act of service. Monday, March 11 Make New Friends Monday Introduce yourself to someone new and invite them to your troop meeting.

• Any girl that renews between April 1 - April 30 will receive a compass/carabiner.

Tuesday, March 12 Girl Scouts' Birthday Celebrate by sharing a treat with someone.

• Troops that renew at least 85% plus 2 leaders between April 1 - April 30 will receive troop first aid kit.

Wednesday, March 13 Way Back Wednesday

Post a picture of when you first became a GS and talk to a GS Alumni about their GS experience.

Thursday, March 14 Take Action Thursday Perform an act of service.

• Anyone renewing between April 1 - June 30 will receive early bird patch.

Friday, March 15 The Future is Female Meet with a female business owner and learn about her job. Saturday, March 16 STEM Saturday STEM Saturday, complete a STEM activity with your troop.

• Pre-K registration begins April 1 with Extended Membership • Extended Year Membership. Girls can join Girl Scouts for $35, and their membership will be active from April 1, 2024 - September 30, 2025.

• Goal Getter Contest started January 30 and ends February 18. If you need a form, please ask your troop leader.

• Theme is: Own your Magic

• Cookie pricing increase to $6.00 and troop proceeds increase to .90/.95 per package sold. • Fall Program personalized patches are arriving. Please remember that to earn the combo patch, Girl Scouts must sell 250+ packages of cookies. • The 2023-2024 Product Program Participation form is mandatory for every girl who wants to participate.

• Orders will be picked up the following week.

• 10 Girl Scouts will win a pizza party for their troop.

• 60 additional sold cookie packages per entry.

Girl Scout Tree Promise – FREE Tree Seedlings to Plant! GSMISTS has partnered with Neighborhood Forests to provide FREE seedlings for Girl Scouts. 2024 marks the 4th year of GSUSA’s Tree Promise initiative to take 5 million actions to address climate change by planting, protecting, and honoring trees to support wildlife conservation and ease the negative effects of climate change Request your trees using the links below. Seedlings will be available for pickup from GSMISTS service centers on or before Earth Day, April 20.

Girl Scouts Learn to Curl! | Lewiston Learn the classic sport of Curling from instructors with the Lewiston Curling Club. This Olympic sport uses a large stone gliding on ice to score points–and has been growing in popularity! This two-hour program includes all equipment needed and all Girl Scouts receive a patch.

Junior Spring Break Day Camp | Traverse City Juniors can earn the Agent of Change Journey in a Day plus the Entertainment Technology Badge. Think Like an Engineer Journey Workshop Join the Calvin University and Grand Rapids chapters of SWE to work toward a Journey! Girl Scout Juniors are invited to a day of hands-on workshops to discover how engineers make a difference in our everyday lives. Girls will explore an engineering fair to see projects that professional engineers and Calvin students work on. Each Girl Scout will enjoy hands-on engineering activities highlighting different disciplines will show the girls how engineers make the world a better place!

Cinderella Presented by Michigan Ballet Academy Enjoy the classic production of Cinderella, a story of love, magic, and romance. This production is perfect for the whole family! Girl Scouts can receive a beautiful performing arts patch when they attend a performance. The Cinderella Boutique will be open 45 minutes before each performance, with the first 15 minutes exclusively for Girl Scouts. Coding for Good with the Society of Women Engineers Volunteer instructors from the Grand Rapids and Michigan Tech University SWE chapters will introduce girls to coding with Arduino. Become familiar with the fundamentals of circuit creation and programming, assemble a power supply module, and a DC motor to create a working fan. Staying Fit & Healthy Workshops with Full Bloom Yoga & Fitness Come to this one-of-a-kind workshop and learn how it is important to find a healthy balance for your mind, body, and emotions. Intro to Canoeing Overnight Trip Join GSMISTS staff for a 2-night adventure of primitive camping and canoeing!

This program begins at GSMISTS Camp Anna Behrens with Girl Scouts meal planning, preparing gear, and completing the Girl Scout Small Craft Safety Training. Everyone will learn and practice the important skills of paddling and learn how to safely handle their crafts when situations arise. The group will prepare camping gear and pack for the next day’s paddling trip and campout along the Manistee River.

Community Camp Weekends Community Camp Weekends are opportunities for Girl Scout troops and Juliettes to come together and share a weekend of sisterhood, camp activities, and relaxation in the outdoors with fellow GSMISTS members. No two community camp weekends will be the same – activities vary by what troops bring to share! Participating troops and cabins will be tasked with planning an activity to share with fellow campers to enjoy during the weekend. Cabin selection is first come, first served. DBJCSA

Adult and Pediatric First Aid/CPR/AED Blended Learning | Multiple Locations

This course will prepare you to recognize and care for a variety of first aid, breathing, and cardiac emergencies involving adults and children. This is a blended learning course including an online portion and an instructor-led classroom skill session. Upon successful completion of course Volunteers will receive a digital certificate for Adult and Pediatric First Aid/CPR/AED valid for two years.

Youth Mental Health First Aider Training | Virtual GSMISTS is excited to partner with the National Council for Behavioral Mental Health to offer our volunteers Youth Mental Health First Aid. This training includes information on how to identify, understand, and respond to signs of mental health and substance use challenges among children and adolescents ages 12-18.

This training, designed for troop leaders, will provide you with all you need to know to guide your Girl Scouts on their Silver Award journey. GSMISTS offers virtual training for the Bronze, Silver, and Gold Awards. The Bronze Award training is geared for girls, with troop leaders encouraged to attend. The Silver Award has a troop leader specific training. The Gold Award training is required for all Seniors and Ambassadors who are interested in becoming Gold Award Girl Scouts.

Training opportunities are shared on our Event Calendar. Check back often as additional opportunities are added to the calendar weekly.

Gold Award Training | Virtual The GSMISTS Gold Award training is required before girls begin working on their Gold Award. This training goes through the requirements and expectations for the Gold Award project, walks through the process of working in GoGold, and includes time for questions to be answered.
