James Busbin Lead Superintendent

James is responsible for overall coordination and supervision of all field installations. He participates in developing and finalizing the master construction schedule and monthly schedule updates, develops short term schedule activities and provides field construction coordination, supervision and inspection. He reviews and adjusts manpower requirements, coordinates and interfaces with independent and public inspection agencies and ensures quality control of all construction activities on a continuous daily basis. It is his responsibility to ensure that plans and specifications are being followed; work is proceeding on schedule and within budget and all work is being conducted in accordance with the project’s safety guidelines. Relevant Experience City of Chattanooga/Volkswagen - Chattanooga, TN: $60 million, 275,000 sq.ft. EMJ is acting as Construction Manager for the BSUV plant expansion. This project consists of 100,000 sq.ft. body shop expansion along with the addition of loading dock reconfiguration. In addition a technical center expansion for finished cars. This space is 25,000 sq.ft., but is located at the existing car exit of the plant. The final part of this expansion is a 150,000 sq.ft. assembly warehouse. Volkswagen Training Center – Chattanooga, TN: A $12.5 million 150,000 sq.ft. employee training facility for the Volkswagen Group of America. Project consisted of classroom spaces, mock assembly and body training spaces, full service commercial kitchen and break areas. TownePlace Suite s - Chattanooga, TN: $5.2 million, 48,146 sq.ft. four story wood frame structure with 87 guest rooms and an indoor pool. Residence Inn - Duluth, GA: $8 million, 82,000 sq.ft., new construction extended stay hotel. 112 rooms with full kitchens in each unit. Facilities include exercise facility, resort style pool, full service lobby and 2,500 sq.ft. meeting space. Whitfield County High School – Dalton, GA: $18.7 million new construction, 243,500 sq.ft., three story facility located on 99.2-acres. This facility will also include a gymnasium including a 2nd floor walking track, full service cafeteria, library and media center, sport facilities for football, baseball, basketball, softball, tennis and track. Enterprise South – Chattanooga, TN: As the Owner’s Agent, EMJ provided Contract Administration, Construction Management and Construction Consulting services to the City of Chattanooga & Hamilton County overseeing $240 million worth of Infrastructure packages funded through State of Tennessee incentive grants. The Infrastructure packages included all Site Infrastructure Improvements including but not limited to mass grading, wetland & stream mitigation, drainage, sewer modifications, temporary & permanent power distribution, inbound & outbound rail, & additional public utilities. This 1,340 acre site includes roadways, test tracks, helipad, & outbound car storage.
