40. 1939 Play Ball #92 Ted Williams (HOF RC) - PSA EX-MT 6
42. Beautiful 1954 Topps #128 Hank Aaron (HOF RC) - PSA VG-EX+ 4.5
Spectacular rookie card of Ted Williams, seemingly growing in popularity by the minute. This example originates from a fresh- to-the-hobby find of 1930s gum cards, consigned by the family of their original owner. Many of the cards in the group appeared virtually untouched, as is the case with this example, which is extremely well-centered with very little surface wear, but very lightly- touched corners keeping the card from a higher holder. Finding cards like this is a dream, a beautiful, sharp example of one of the most important cards of its era. MINIMUM BID: $2,000
Clean and colorful midgrade specimen of Hank Aaron’s highly- prized rookie card. Reasonably well-centered with vivid, bright coloration and very mild edge wear, the card is an outstanding example for the grade. 1954 Topps cards are notoriously victim of virtually all the Topps quality control flaws of the era, from centering issues to rough cuts, roller lines and even registration issues, but this example exhibits very few of those flaws. In fact, some light but honest corner wear coupled with a very slight nudge
to the left are the most visible flaws of the card. A slightly rough cut left edge is typical for 1950s Topps issues. One of the finer midgrade examples we have handled.
MINIMUM BID: $1,000
Remarkably clean and sharp 1952 Topps Willie Mays, consigned ungraded from an advanced collection of largely ungraded material, and submitted to PSA by Love of the Game. The image quality is exceptional, dark and bold, with very little visible surface wear. Corners and edges are also sharp, though top-to-bottom centering is a visible condition flaw that has reduced the numerical grad assessed by PSA. For those undaunted by centering, however, the card is extremely pleasing, particularly due to its strong left- to-right centering. 41. 1952 Topps #261 Willie Mays (HOF) - PSA VG-EX 4 MINIMUM BID: $2,000
43. Beautiful 1955 Topps #47 Hank Aaron (HOF) - PSA NM 7
Sharp and well-centered second-year card of Hall of Famer Hank Aaron. Purchased ungraded before the rise of grading, the card has been tucked away outside the hobby for several decades, recently consigned and submitted to PSA for the first time. Bright and clean, very light corner touches keep the card from a higher holder. A tremendous quality card, freshly graded, from a small but high-quality collection of ungraded vintage Hall of Famers featured in this auction.
MINIMUM BID: $500
