OTTAWA FIRM HIRED AS PR RESIDENCE PROJECT MANAGER

Spence Street in Hawkesbury for the site of the new Prescott-Russell Residence. The location is close to both the Hawkesbury fire station and the Hawkesbury and District General Hospital in case of emergencies for senior residents of the new facility. The proposed new PR Residence building design would include room for 78 more beds, compared to the existing facility. The UCPR received approval earlier this year from the Ontario Health Ministry for an additional 78 beds for the new PR Residence, which meant automatic approval also of a $250,000 planning grant to assist with preparations for the project. Several mayors expressed concern that the new Doug Ford Progressive Conservative government might renege on any agreements for funding aid or increased bed space for seniors’ facilities projects like the new PR Residence. Counties council approved contracting with Colliers Project Leaders of Ottawa as project manager for the new Prescott- Russell Residence construction project.
