HOLIDAY SEASON AND SPECIAL OCCASIONS Each year we seem to encounter a series of undesirable events, sometimes serious, during the holiday seasons and special occasions. We can anticipate and avoid many incidents by ensuring our Associates follow all normal procedures as they have been traine d; however, today’s affluent youth, sometimes encouraged by their parents, have found that a hotel is the perfect place to retreat for relaxation and enjoyment. Unfortunately, their relaxation and enjoyment frequently include partying with alcohol, drugs or other tempting vices, and therein lies the problem. We must be wary of the indirect responsibility and potential liabilities of underage occupants consuming alcohol, or drugs, or engaging in any otherwise illegal activity. Please take every possible precaution to avoid problems during these times, and make sure Associates are trained in what they need to do. The Guest Acknowledgement Form on the following page should be completed when the situation is deemed necessary. It is recommended that during period when there is increased activity and the likelihood of illegal behaviors is substantial, all guests registering during that period could be requested to complete the Guest Acknowledgement Form to avoid any question of fairness or discrimination.
