MEDIA RESPONSE, PUBLIC RELATIONS AND FILMING INQUIRIES Any crisis which might attract media attention must be reported to the Designated Corporate Contacts including our Public Relations representative and the franchisor Crisis Hotline if applicable, per the instructions at the front of this manual. Consult with your VPO prior to contacting the franchisor Crisis Hotline. • Our Public Relations representative will provide an appropriate media statement based on the situation. • The GM is the only hotel-level staff person that is authorized to speak to the media, with direction from the VPO and the Atrium Executive Committee. • The GM is only authorized to read a prepared statement provided by our Public Relations representative and shall not expand the prepared statement, answer additional questions, or participate in an extended interview. • The President is the only person who can designate other Associates as authorized spokespersons of the Company. All Company news releases should be submitted to the President who will manage the approval process of news releases to the media as appropriate on behalf of the Company. Contact with the media concerning the Company’s position on any matter should be made only by the Company’s authorized spokespersons. Managers and Associates who are not authorized spokespersons but who receive inquiries from the media shall refer such inquiries to the General Manager who will immediately make the President and SVP Human Resources aware of such inquiry. The President is the only person who can designate other Associates as authorized spokespersons of the Company.
Do not engage in back-and-forth dialogue or answer any further questions.
FILMING INQUIRIES All filming inquiries must be forwarded to the GM. The GM must obtain approval of the VPO who will seek guidance of Atrium’s Executive Committee, Franchisor Brand Support, and Atrium Legal Department.
