Safety & Risk Control Resources

3. Safety Committee Meeting . There must be a culture committed to participating in and providing a safe environment for our Associates and our guests. You must select from your leadership team a committed group of individuals that will lead the development and maintenance of a concerned, involved and active safety committee. The meetings are to be held monthly at a time that permits everyone to attend and prevents absence. 4. SPIRIT Station Incentive Program . Formerly, SOAR (Safety Observation and Recognition), this program is designed to engage Associates and promote always working safely and encourages them to help others do the same. Property leaders are encouraged to use some of their allocated points to reward safe behaviors and practices, therefore promoting a safe working environment for all. Earning SPIRIT Station points throughout the year provides Associates the opportunity to redeem points for prizes for practicing safe behaviors. 5. Orientation . Orientation and safety training is mandatory at the property level and requires annual program recertification for select positions. All Associates receive an overview of all programs as part of their initial onboarding with Atrium Hospitality. • Safety Training is assigned within Workday, and completion of the training modules is recorded in Workday. Safety training can also be proctored and hosted live by HR; the associate must acknowledge completion of the training by signing the course attendance log provided by the key leader. • Orientation Checklist . This should be completed as part of the Onboarding process and retained in the Associate ’s Workday file as record and acknowledgement of training. • Atrium Hospitality Manager Orientation . This orientation program outlines the sequence of activities to take place during a manager’s first four days at a hotel. The outline is, in most instances, general to allow personnel involved to meet the specific needs of the new manager. The responsibility for the program implementation and effectiveness rests with the Leadership Team. • Globally Harmonized System (GHS) for Classification and Labeling of Chemicals . OSHA required. Training is included in OSHA training and is facilitated through Workday. • FBI — Run, Hide, Fight . https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5VcSwejU2D0 This video, produced by the Houston Mayor’s Office of Public Safety and Homeland Security, dramatizes an active shooter incident in the workplace.
