Disinfectants • Follow manufacturer’s instructions if using commercial/purchased disinfectants. Bleach 1. A fresh mixture of bleach and water should be prepared for each clean-up. Add one part household bleach to nine parts cool water. Mix gently. 2. Use a fresh mixture before each clean-up. 3. Wear disposable latex gloves. 4. Wipe up the spill using disposable towels and place towels in plastic garbage bag. 5. Gently pour bleach solution onto all contaminated areas of the surface and allow it to remain for 20 minutes. 6. Wipe up the remaining bleach solution. 7. Saturate non-disposable cleaning materials such as mops or scrub brushes with bleach solution and air-dry. 8. Remove gloves and place in plastic garbage bag, then double-bag, tie securely, and discard.
