Recruitment — just one arrow in the quiver of our Impact Strategy We’re aware that inclusion doesn’t just happen organically. We need to make it happen. Our marketing and recruitment teams work together to target and source community organizations that represent marginalized communities. Our outreach and rich relationships with these groups create the foundation for successful hiring and development initiatives. Africa Day of 1,000 Opportunities is an annual event hosted by CapeBPO and Futur-ED e-learning centers that attracts 1,000 unemployed youth from Athlone and surrounding areas. In 2023, TTEC met with and interviewed individuals from this talent pool, who participated in a three-day BPO work readiness accelerator program. Colombia In 2023, TTEC Colombia participated in an English for Work language skills program in Barranquilla. Classes were taught in grammar, vocabulary, listening comprehension, and speaking, focusing on topics and situations related to the work environment in the BPO sector. As a registrant in Barranquilla’s Universidad del Atlántico employability portal, TTEC participated in job fairs that resulted in 236 job applications. Philippines In 2023, we worked with Public Employment Service Offices (PESOs) to host citywide job fairs, TTEC-exclusive job fairs at their offices, and community engagement to share career opportunities TTEC offers. United States Through the Healthcare College of Insurance (COI) training program, TTEC guides students through pre-licensure training, enabling learners to pass their state’s licensure exams. Once licensed and fully trained, these employees aid vulnerable populations in researching and selecting critical healthcare coverage. Through this program, we’re able to help upskill marginalized communities and support their accomplishments of licensure, which they can take anywhere in their career.
Inspired by the spirit of service for Mandela Day 2023, our U.S. recruitment team hosted a free Resume Glow Up on Facebook to help job seekers make their resumes shine. Our recruiters reviewed resumes ahead of our live conversation and emailed personalized advice back to job seekers. TTEC partnered with the Urban League in Kansas City to participate in mock interviews and hiring events that produced 15 TTEC hires in 2023. Our work with Kansas City Workforce resulted in 27 hires in 2023. To encourage stronger community connections, TTEC hosted a live series on Facebook that served as a gateway to resources social media followers may not realize are available to them. Among the guests on the Pay it Forward series in 2023 were WorkReady OKC, the Wounded Warrior Project, Goodwill Industries of Central Oklahoma, and PACareerLink.
Driving positive impact and economic vibrancy to communities with limited opportunities is a stride to a sustainable future, where prosperity is not limited by geographies.” —Adam Foster, President, TTEC EMEA
