Le gouvernement fédéral débloque davantage de fonds pour les organismes sportifs amateurs et organisera cet automne un sommet national intitulé «Du terrain de jeu au podium» à l’inten- tion des parties prenantes. Le secrétaire d’État aux Sports, Adam van Koeverden, a annoncé vendredi que Canada Alpin serait la première organisation à bénéficier d’une somme supplémentaire de 2,77 millions $, qui viendra porter le total de son financement pour cette année à 8 millions $. L’année dernière, Canada Alpin avait reçu 5 millions $. Ottawa avait annoncé, dans sa mise à jour économique de printemps, son intention d’injecter davantage de fonds dans les orga- nisations sportives nationales canadiennes. Cette promesse faisait suite au rapport final de la Commission sur l’avenir du sport au Canada, publié en mars, qui avait conclu que le système sportif du pays était confronté à une «crise de financement», les fonds du fédéral n’ayant pas suivi le rythme de l’inflation. Les organisations ont été invitées à dépo- ser en juillet leurs demandes de financement supplémentaire provenant d’une enveloppe de 112 millions $ disponible cette année.

The Ministry of Long-Term Care (MLTC) is reviewing a licence request from Yorkville Development LP by its general partner, Southbridge Care Homes (a limited partnership, by its general partner, Southbridge Health Care GP Inc.) (the “Proposed Licensee”) for Southbridge Cornwall 2 (the “Home”), a new long- term care (LTC) home proposed to be located across from the existing Southbridge Cornwall LTC home at 800 Nick Kaneb Drive in Cornwall, Ontario. The proposal involves: • the upgrade of all 248 existing beds from the following LTC homes: • Heartwood – a 118-bed home located at 201 - 11 th Street East, in Cornwall, Ontario, and licensed to Yorkville Development LP by its general partner, Southbridge Care Homes (a limited partnership, by its general partner, Southbridge Health Care GP Inc.) • Pinecrest (Plantagenet) – a 60-bed home located 101 Parent Street in Plantagenet, Ontario, and licensed to CVH (No. 4) LP by its general partner, Southbridge Care Homes (a limited partnership, by its general partner, Southbridge Health Care GP Inc.); and, • The Palace – a 70-bed home located at 92 Centre Street in Alexandria, Ontario, and licensed to CVH (No. 6) LP by its general partner, Southbridge Care Homes (a limited partnership, by its general partner, Southbridge Health Care GP Inc.). • the development of 72 additional LTC beds approved by MLTC to be included in the proposed 320-bed development project, subject to meeting all licensing requirements under the Fixing Long-Term Care Act, 2021 (the “Act”); and, • Heartwood, Pinecrest (Plantagenet) and The Palace will close when the new Southbridge Cornwall 2 completes development. • the issuance of a new licence with a term of up to 30 years for the operation of 320 “New” beds, following the development of the Home.
