3. Technical 3.1. Overall responsibility for the technical design of the new hospital buildings, including the development of technical design briefs development through appropriate involvement of relevant departments within ICHT

3.2. Responsibility for the review and assurance of all technical specifications and designs.

3.3. Repsonsible for assuring technical design meets best practices and adheres to Trust requirements. 3.4. Providing Thought Leadership, innovation and opportunities to achieve world leading operational outcomes in Construction, Engineering, ICT Infrastructure, and Smart Building technology and carbon neutral/negative developments. 3.5. Leading on compilation of relevant existing technical, distribution and utilities information related to existing buildings and sites proposed for redevelopment (electrical, mechanical, public health) working with the Trust Estates Team, organising surveys and investigations where these are appropriate and required. 3.6. Leading the development of documentation (Works Information/Employer’s Requirements) detailing the explicit and implicit requirements of the Trust (e.g. collation of all existing as-built documentation and undertaking a gap analysis). 3.7. Monitoring the technical commissioning programme and taking responsibility for the management and resolution of any compliance issues, reporting to the relevant Project Director on progress and delays and the action being taken to resolve issues and delays and get back on programme. 3.8. To liaise with the Estates Operations Team & ICT Team in relation to proposed developments, advising and taking advice on standards and specification ensuring that these continue to meet with identified quality and performance objectives. 3.9. To work closely with any appointed Commissioning Agent or Independent Tester (IT) to ensure the Trust’s requirements and output specs are met.

4. Construction / Project Management 4.1. Working with the relevant Project Director, management of any technical/ construction interface risks related to the construction programme on both sites. 4.2. Working with the relevant Project Director monitoring the construction programme and advising of progress and any delays and the action being taken to resolve any issues to get back on programme. 4.3. To monitor and provide informed comment on development and implementation of the developer/designers/contractors Quality Assurance Plan and Health, Safety Plan and all H&S issues. Challenging and resolving any perceived/actual variances on site and ensuring they are rectified. 14
