The Bulletin: October 2026

TENNIS Fall programming is off to a stronger start than ever, with cardio sessions, clinics, and Cup practices offering a total of 48 programs each week. Ladies’ Cup practices continue to be well attended, and Wilmington Cup competition is underway, with all eight WCC teams off to a strong start. New programming has also been a big hit, including five weekly 4.0 Ladies Cardio sessions, providing even more opportunities for members to stay active and connected. Block-booking requests are now being accepted through electronic registration, with submissions due by October 2. Court demand remains very high, and favorable weather has allowed outdoor play to continue. As the season progresses, our indoor courts will remain essential and greatly appreciated by members looking to continue playing throughout the fall and winter. Our eight racquets professionals continue to operate at full capacity, delivering lessons, clinics, and programming across the Club. We are also excited to welcome Austin Hensley, our new Head Paddle and Pickleball Professional, this month. With the search now complete, Austin will lead our paddle and pickleball programming and help expand opportunities for members in these growing areas. PICKLEBALL Programming and lessons will expand with the arrival of our new Head Professional in mid-October, while social play and leagues continue to keep the courts active. The Pickleball Club Championships were held as a one-day event on September 19, with Jason Clare and E.J. Dealy emerging victorious after a hard-fought round robin against three other teams to earn the title of Club Champions. PADDLE Paddle season is approaching quickly, and we are looking forward to another great season on the courts. New players will be added to fill all Cup teams, and a paddle camp with Charlotte Sikor is scheduled for October 22. Thursday morning social play is open to all members and is a great opportunity to get on the courts and connect with fellow players. The paddle community is also excited to welcome our new Head Paddle Professional, Austin Hensley, who will be leading our paddle programming this season. Join us for Opening Day on October 19 at 6:00 p.m. All members are welcome to come out, play, and meet Austin. The courts have been freshly lined, the boards have been tightened, and the heaters have been tested and are ready for the season!
