Kellogg Awards Graphic Packaging reported by Greg Kishbaugh

MacDermid, Esko Unite For Training Representatives from Esko and sales staff from MacDermid Graph- ics Solutions gathered at MacDer- mid’s headquar ter s in Atlanta, Georgia, two weeks ago for a two- day training seminar. The purpose of the meeting was to train MacDermid’s North Ameri- can sales and technical service teams on Esko’s products and the benefits of workflow enhancement. “This meeting gave our Sales and Technical teams the information they need to help MacDermid sup- port our customers who choose Esko hardware and software,” said Timothy Gotsick, Vice President and General Manager at MacDermid Graphics Solutions. “Esko technolo- gy has been broadly ratified by flex- ographic printers the world over, and we respect their leadership po- sition in the packaging industry.” For 9 out of 10 retail packages, Esko solutions are reportedly used in packaging management, asset man- agement, artwork creation, structural design, prepress, 3D visualization,

G raphic Packaging International, Atlanta, Georgia, was rec- ognized with a North America Award for Sustainability at the Kellogg Company’s Supplier Recognition Event held in June in Battle Creek, Michigan. This inaugural award recog- nizes suppliers that have demonstrated excellence in corpo- rate respons ibi l i ty. Graphic Packaging re- ceived the award for its understanding and sup- port of a Kellogg Com- pany core objective, which i s to provide consumers with more sustainable products and easily recyclable product packaging. Re- cyclable paperboard packaging provides the content and graphics space the Kel logg’s branding team needs in their communication of important sustainability stories to the consumer. Graphic Packaging has a strong sustainability program in place, currently showcased in its Vision 2016 Program, which is a formalized declaration of its environmental goals.The com- pany has committed to reducing greenhouse gas emissions by 15 percent; reducing non-renewable energy by 15 percent; re- duce water effluent by 15 percent; reduce lost-time incident rates by 50 percent; and has committed to increasing the re- covery of paper and paperboard by 70 percent by 2020.
