C’était le 23 mars dernier qu’avait lieu la dernière compétition régionale du niveau Défi à Blainville. Les gymnastes ont eu droit à bien des éloges à cette occasion et se sont réunies pour une dernière photo. Ci-dessus, à l’avant, Yas- mine Villeneuve, Julia Scardera, Lorie Chênier, Julianne Rioux, Lily-Rose Turpin et Magalie Labonté. En deuxième rangée, Marianne Clément, Juliane Laliberté, Émy Bélanger et Aglaé Racine. Dans la 3 e rangée, l’entraîneuse Mélissa Pfleiderer, Agathe Gauthier, Krysten Larocque et Ophélie Provost. À l’arrière, l’entraîneuse chef Myriam Landry-Ladouceur et Andréanne David.
A wake is a very emotional experience but also a place to renew friendships and discuss previous memories of various events. Other meetings invariably return to one specific event that causes laughter and discussion. It appears that this story has been im- printed on many of our local people. This has inspired me to take pen in hand and share her story. Claudette, it seems, is remembered among other things as the “Bear Lady” for articles that appeared in 2011 and 2012. The publication of the articles certainly created some difference of opinion. It also gave us an opportunity to bring informa-
tive information to those who know little on wild bears. The end of the story shows my 78-year-old bear-hunting wife, Claudette, beside her mounted bear. The two-tone cinnamon bear is on a natural habitat simu- lating early spring with spots of snow. The taxidermist was Pierre Gevry from St-Paul d’Abbotsford, Québec. Tom Esliger Grenville-sur-la-Rouge
