ELECTRO AUTOMATION (NI) CONTINUES 25-YEAR-LONG PARTNERSHIP WITH SEHSC TRUST TO INSTALL FULLY INTEGRATED CAR-PARKING SYSTEM… MULTI-SITE HOSPITAL CAR-PARKING SYSTEM
E lectro Automation (NI) Ltd has supplied and installed a four-lane, integrated car-parking system for the new-build Lisburn Primary & Community Care Centre multi-storey car park. The installation included two entry lanes, two exit lanes, a variable message sign to indicate spaces available and four payment stations. Centrally controlled from The Ulster Hospital, this is an extension of an existing system previously installed by Electro Automation at various SET sites including the Ulster, Ards and Lagan Valley Hospitals. “This integrated system provides a centralised point of control at the Ulster Hospital’s dedicated security suite to control all security aspects throughout the entire South Eastern Health & Social Care Trust estate,
avoiding the need to have staff on each site running separate parking systems,” explained Craig McVeigh, Technical Director for Electro Automation. It also provides a quick and flexible response to the parking needs of patients and staff. “At times it can be difficult to balance the parking needs of staff against patient attendance or visitors on the site,” said Craig. He continued, “It is commonplace that the demand for parking spaces outstrips availability, and the new HUB parking system provides an equitable and efficient methodology to deal with this emotive topic.” “Our variable messaging signs – which are installed across all the Trust’s hospital sites – gives security staff flexibility to manipulate the
counters to allow more visitors or staff in to any area of the car park, as they see fit. Staff passes are also integrated into the system.”Commenting on the completed project, Craig said, “It was a massive undertaking on everybody’s part to pull together a fully compliant system for the Trust.
